Reagan County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kason Brown led the charge by scoring 28 points along with nine rebounds and three blocks. That makes it three consecutive games in which Brown has scored at least a third of Reagan County's points. Another player making a difference was Leevi Knight, who scored 19 points.
Meanwhile, Sonora's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 39-38 to Ozona. That's two games in a row now that Sonora has lost by exactly a single point.
Reagan County has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. As for Sonora, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.
