Adding to the longest winning streak in 5A Special District 3 this week, Ashland beat Eagle Point 33-17. The win marks ninth in a row for the the Grizzlies.
North Eugene fell to Marist 43-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Justin Kearney was a passing and rushing force as Churchill fell to Springfield. He completed 16 passes for 133 yards and also ran for 3 yards. Kearney's key target this week was Junior Perez, who caught 7 passes for 67 yards.
Brody Cooper put up the best numbers in passing as the Spartans defeated the Highlanders. He finished with a total of 4 completions for 60 yards and 2 touchdowns. Cooper's favorite target this week was Dustin Jones, who caught 2 passes for 41 yards.
6-foot-0 quarterback Cooper of Marist is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,171. He has also thrown 12 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Darrius Jackson. The Willamette star has 27 catches for 540 yards.
The Lancers made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 8,392 from 8,556. The improvement was largely due to a 27-10 victory over Churchill last week.
