Having just played yesterday, the Osmond/Randolph Hawks will head out on the road to face off against the Norfolk Catholic Knights at 6:00 p.m. on February 13th. Osmond/Randolph will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 237th, while Norfolk Catholic is ranked 55th).
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Osmond/Randolph ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They snuck past Lutheran-Northeast with a 34-29 victory.
Osmond/Randolph got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ella Scott out in front who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Scott hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleigh Miller, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Norfolk Catholic's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 38-31 to Crofton.
Despite the loss, Norfolk Catholic had strong showings from Eva Hartzell, who scored 13 points, and Hayden Brummer, who scored six points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Osmond/Randolph is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-15 record this season. As for Norfolk Catholic, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-8.
Tuesday's contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Osmond/Randolph have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 31.3 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Norfolk Catholic struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.6 rebounds per game.
