Bergen Catholic has gone 8-2 against St. Joseph Regional recently and they'll look to pad the win column further  on Saturday. The Crusaders will be playing at home against the Green Knights  at 1:00  p.m. The two teams have allowed few  points on average (Bergen Catholic 12, St. Joseph Regional 12) so any  points scored will be well earned.
Bergen Catholic is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another  one of New Jersey's top teams: Delbarton, who was ranked tenth  at the time (Bergen Catholic was ranked second). The Crusaders breezed past the Green Wave to the tune of  42-7 on Saturday. The Crusaders have beaten the Green Wave the last seven times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Green Wave has come to flipping the script.

Bergen Catholic found their leader in sophomore  Trey Tagliaferri, who threw for 331 yards and four  TDs while picking up 16.6 yards per attempt. Those 331  passing yards set a new season-high mark for  Tagliaferri. Another player making a difference was  Austin Busso, who picked up 103 receiving yards and a pair of  scores.
 Bergen Catholic didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Delbarton to a completion percentage of just 46.7%. The team can thank  Jordan Thomas for the heroic effort on defense: he. Bergen Catholic wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 66.7%.

Meanwhile, St. Joseph Regional fought the good fight in their overtime  game against Don Bosco Prep  last Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Ironmen by a score of  17-14. The Green Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 Bergen Catholic will need to focus on slowing down  Kyshawn Bryant, one of several St. Joseph Regional players who made an impact when they last played. He rushed for 48 yards and one  touchdown, and also picked up 59 receiving yards.  Mason Geis was another key player, having thrown for 250 yards and onetouchdown.
 St. Joseph Regional's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Bergen Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
 Bergen Catholic didn't have too much breathing room in their  contest against St. Joseph Regional  in their previous meeting  back in November of 2024, but they still walked away with  a  20-14 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Green Knights'  John Forster, who rushed for 153 yards and one  TD. Now that he won't be playing  on Saturday, will it be easier for the Crusaders to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
