The Mountain View Bruins have not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They strolled past Timpanogos with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 56-39. For Mountain View, this counts as revenge for the 59-38 loss Timpanogos walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Mountain View's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaycee Carlson, who scored 15 points along with nine steals and six assists. Carlson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Lia Suguturaga was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.
Several Timberwolves players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ella Maddox, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Maddox posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Puckett, who scored six points along with three steals and two blocks.
Mountain View's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-8. As for Timpanogos, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mountain View will take on Orem at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Orem is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak. As for Timpanogos, they will be playing at home against Payson at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
