High Desert recap Nov. 7, 2012
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Kern Valley, who took down 674th ranked Desert, 35-29. Dalton Gallis threw for 201 yards and one touchdown and ran for 18 yards in the win.
Bishop extended the longest winning streak in High Desert this week by beating Rosamond, 50-12. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
The Scorpions' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Brandon Valdez threw for 220 and three touchdowns and Brayden Pantana had 98 yards receiving. On the ground Kris Washington chipped in 121 yards. Chad Gleason helped Desert's passing attack out by catching five balls for 80 yards.
Anthony Vigilante made the biggest impact on defense this week as Desert lost to the Broncs. The senior grabbed two sacks.
Thanks to the talents of Matthew Moore and Valdez Chris Hinton's team has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Moore leads the league in passing with 1556 yards, while Valdez has rushed for 1079 yards this season. Kern Valley's Cody Little leads the league in receiving yards with 703 on 27 catches.
Frazier Mountain moved up to 761 from 789 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Falcons climbed the ranks as a result of topping California City 34-0.
