Palmer hadn't done well against North Panola recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Dragons narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Cougars 62-59. With that victory, the Dragons brought their scoring average up to 51 points per game.

Palmer had a senior duo take command as Kevin Caston posted 23 points and three steals and Hendrix Jamison dropped a double-double with 16 points and 13 boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which Caston has scored at least a third of the Dragons' points. Knowledge Moore was another key player, putting up seven points.

The win made it two in a row for Palmer and bumps their season record up to 4-1. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of three points across that stretch. As for North Panola, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Palmer wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 31-25 loss against Coahoma County on the 24th. As for North Panola, they have also already played their next game, an 80-74 defeat against Independence on the 2nd.
