The Carson Colts will take on the Los Altos Conquerors in a tournament on Thursday. Carson is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 13 games dating back to last season.
While Carson's win against Redondo Union wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Carson came out on top in a nail-biter against Redondo Union two weeks ago, sneaking past 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Colts have posted against the Sea Hawks since March 16, 2019.
Giselle Pantoja spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kayleigh Allen, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-3. Allen is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Ashannalee Titialii, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and one run.
Meanwhile, Los Altos owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Mira Costa with a sharp 9-0 win. The victory was just business as usual for the Conquerors, who after four games remain undefeated this season.
Kaylahni Duenas made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over 4.2 innings pitched. Duenas was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Brianah Alejandre was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-2. Esmeralda Soto also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Los Altos always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .520. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.
Carson pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Los Altos, their record is now 4-0.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Carson has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Los Altos struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
