Sandy Creek was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Red Cloud apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Despite the loss, Sandy Creek saw an underclassman step up: Emma Fisher dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Among those leading the charge was Adelynn Minnick, who scored 22 points. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Kari Kucera was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Sandy Creek's defeat was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-10. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.8 points per game. As for Red Cloud, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-6.
Sandy Creek will be playing at home against Blue Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Blue Hill focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday. As for Red Cloud, they will head out on the road to face off against Superior at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
