Meanwhile, David Crockett can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past Sullivan East 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Pioneers have posted since April 5th.
Aj Ford made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up six earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three doubles gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nolan Street, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Noah Jones was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
David Crockett kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sullivan East only managed eight hits.
Daniel Boone is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-9-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for David Crockett, their win bumped their record up to 11-17.
