North Providence is 5-0 against Central Falls since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The North Providence Cougars will head out on the road to take on the Central Falls Warriors at 6:00 p.m. North Providence has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Thursday, North Providence faced Burrillville in a battle between two of the state's top teams. North Providence came out on top against Burrillville by a score of 64-54. North Providence's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
It was another big night for Lusine Hagopian, who scored 37 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Riddhi Mistry was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven steals and six assists.
Meanwhile, Central Falls suffered a tough 42-22 loss at the hands of Narragansett on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Central Falls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Rhode Island basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while Narragansett is ranked first).
North Providence is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. As for Central Falls, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.
North Providence beat Central Falls 51-39 in their previous matchup back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for North Providence since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
