The Ellet Orangemen will take on the Medina Battling Bees at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Ellet comes in on eight and Medina on four.
While Ellet's victory against Independence wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Orangemen had just enough and edged out the Blue Devils 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Orangemen have posted since April 29, 2024.

Rylie Sprouse spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Avery Simmons, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple. Another player making a difference was Addison Lipply, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Medina sidestepped Jackson for a 14-13 victory.
Bella Case was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed 5.2 innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. Case was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 11 games.
In other batting news, Mya Harvey was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run was her first of the season. Ryann Allar was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs and three RBI.
Medina was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. They are 5-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Medina pushed their record up to 7-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Ellet, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.
Monday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Ellet has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .549. However, it's not like Medina struggles in that department as they've averaged .477. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Ellet came up short against Medina in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 14-9. Will the Orangemen have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
