The Curlew Cougars pushed their score all the way to 56 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a serious blow against Cusick, falling 87-56. Curlew has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Curlew still got an impressive performance from Logan Thompson, who scored 23 points along with 6 rebounds. Thompson scored a full 41.1% of Curlew's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Luke Doyen was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Curlew now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Cusick, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
Curlew will head out on the road to face off against Oakesdale at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Washington (Oakesdale is ranked 101st, while Curlew is ranked 117th). As for Cusick, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Republic at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
