Sadly, the Dupo Tigers are still looking for their first win of the season after 21 matches. They took a serious blow against Sandoval on Tuesday, falling 69-37. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Dupo of the 78-34 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.
Sandoval was led to victory by Drew Gore and Austin Hoffman. Gore almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 steals, while Hoffman scored 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hoffman has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Armoni Dempsey, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.
Dupo dropped their record down to 0-21 with that loss, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Sandoval, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-20.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dupo and Valmeyer will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Sandoval, they will head out on the road to take on Wayne City at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Sandoval is facing Wayne City at the right time seeing as Wayne City is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
