The Andover Central Jaguars's 17-6 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Saturday and fell 54-53 to Clearwater.
When it comes to explaining why Andover Central lost, one person who can't be blamed is Haven Deckinger. Despite the final result, she scored 17 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Deckinger has scored all season. Avery Mason was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds.
Andover Central has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Clearwater, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Andover Central will take on Goddard at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Clearwater, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Classical at 6:00 p.m.
