The Gladewater Bears won the last time they faced the New Diana Eagles, and things went their way on Friday too. Gladewater put the hurt on New Diana with a sharp 47-23 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for Gladewater.
When it comes to explaining why New Diana lost, one person who can't be blamed is Natalie Manes. Despite the final result, she scored four points along with 11 rebounds. Manes set a new season high mark in steals with two.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, New Diana struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Gladewater's win bumped their record up to 8-12. As for New Diana, they bumped their record down to 6-14 with that loss, which was their eighth straight at home.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gladewater will take on White Oak at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. White Oak comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for New Diana, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Daingerfield at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Daingerfield has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
