The Bishop Rosecrans Bishops will head out on the road to face off against the Maysville Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Bishop Rosecrans sitting on seven straight wins and Maysville on five.
On Monday, Bishop Rosecrans beat Fisher Catholic 8-4.
Hayden Perdue was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Frankie Palandrani was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and three RBI.
Bishop Rosecrans kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Maysville hadn't done well against Philo recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Panthers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 victory over the Electrics. Eight seems to be a good number for the Panthers as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Bryce Fisher was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Trevor Hague, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. He has become a key player for Maysville: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-12 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Kade Fusner, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Bishop Rosecrans' record now sits at 13-4. As for Maysville, their record is now 9-12.
Maysville's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Bishop Rosecrans hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .339. It's a different story for Maysville, though, as they've only averaged .230. Will they be able to contain Bishop Rosecrans' hitters?
Bishop Rosecrans couldn't quite finish off Maysville in their previous meeting back in May of 2025 and fell 4-2. Can the Bishops avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
