The Rhodes Rams will head out on the road to challenge the Garrett Morgan Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rhodes is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
Rhodes suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They were outmatched by John Hay on the road and fell 69-16. Rhodes was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-14.
Despite the defeat, Rhodes saw an underclassman step up: Betsaida Byrd scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Garrett Morgan beat Christian Community 44-35 on Monday. The win was just what Garrett Morgan needed coming off of a 56-21 loss in their prior matchup.
Rhodes' defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-5. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.7 points per game. As for Garrett Morgan, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.
Rhodes came up short against Garrett Morgan when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 48-43. Can Rhodes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
