West Creek hasn't had much luck against Henry County recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Coyote will head out to square off against the Patriots at 6:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Thursday.
West Creek is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Kenwood on Tuesday as they made off with a 15-4 win. The Coyote haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Paityn Swift made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off three hits. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ariyana Lewis, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024. Ariella Huskisson also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
West Creek was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Henry County had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four two weeks ago. They were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Red Hawks. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by six runs or more this season.
Like West Creek, Henry County also got a great game from a two-way player: Irelynn Beecham. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Beecham was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Layne Latimer was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Breely Peirpoint, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.
Henry County pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for West Creek, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-12.
West Creek might still be hurting after the 16-0 loss they got from Henry County in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Coyote avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
