The Roy/Mosquero Longhorn put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 27-20 victory over Grady. That's another feather in the cap for Roy/Mosquero, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Roy/Mosquero got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ayden Clavel out in front who rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries, and also threw for 164 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Brycen Barnes , who gained 156 total yards and two touchdowns.
Despite the loss, Grady still got an impressive performance from Zane Rush, who rushed for 86 yards on only nine carries, and also threw for 121 yards and two touchdowns. Alexzander Ciancio was another key contributor, picking up 39 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Roy/Mosquero's win was their sixth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 11-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points per game. As for Grady, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3.
Roy/Mosquero will be playing at home against Gateway Christian at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Gateway Christian's favor is that they have now posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season. Grady does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
