Football Recap: Framingham Skates Past Holliston with Ease

Framingham's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They breezed past the Holliston Panthers to the tune of 34-7. Considering the Flyers have won three contests by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Nicholas Nascimento Duarte was his usual excellent self, rushing for 174 yards and two scores while picking up 9.2 yards per carry. He has become a key player for Framingham: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 0-4 otherwise.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Framingham proved: they limited Holliston to a paltry 2.2 yards per carry. While two picked up at least six total tackles, Kolven McBrayer stood above the rest. He made six total tackles and defended three passes in addition to snagging an interception. Framingham didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.7.

Framingham didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as McBrayer, Dylan Gold, and Vinicius Silva picked up one apiece. McBrayer is also on a roll when it comes to defended passes, as he's now defended at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Framingham's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.7 points on average over those games. As for Holliston, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.

Framingham and Holliston will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Flyers see the field they'll take on Natick at 10:00 a.m. on the 27th. As for Holliston, their break will end when they face Westwood at 10:00 a.m. on the 27th.
