Osceola is 8-2 against the Storm since February of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Osceola Bulldogs will be playing at home against the High Plains Storm at 6:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nebraska (Osceola is ranked 151st, while the Storm are ranked 164th).
Osceola can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They strolled past Meridian with points to spare, taking the game 50-35. The score was all tied up 20-20 at the break, but Osceola was the better team in the second half.
Osceola had a senior duo take command as Courtney Sunday scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and three steals and Emma Recker scored 18 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sunday has scored all season.
Meanwhile, High Plains struggled with assists on Saturday (the Cougars had 14 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. High Plains was outmatched by the Cougars at home and fell 54-13. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points High Plains has scored all season.
Osceola's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for High Plains, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Osceola have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 26.6 rebounds per game. However, it's not like High Plains struggles in that department as they've been averaging 25.9 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Osceola didn't have too much breathing room in their game against the Storm when the teams last played back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 43-38 win. Will Osceola repeat their success, or do the Storm have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
