The Northmor Golden Knights will face off against the East Knox Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Northmor focused on turnovers this week as the team gave up 21 on Friday.
Last Friday, Northmor was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 46-45 to Mt. Gilead. The Golden Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite their defeat, Northmor saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Shelby Cooper, who had 17 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals, was perhaps the best of all. Ryann Brinkman was another key player, scoring eight points along with nine rebounds and six steals.
Even though they lost, Northmor smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in six consecutive games dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, East Knox was able to grind out a solid victory over Fredericktown on Friday, taking the game 58-51. That's two games straight that the Bulldogs have won by exactly seven points.
Northmor now has a losing record at 1-2. As for East Knox, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-1.
