The Dodge County Indians scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They strolled past West Laurens with points to spare, taking the game 64-46. With that victory, Dodge County brought their scoring average up to 50.4 points per game.
Dodge County was led to victory by Autumn Rhodes and Lyric Green. Rhodes scored 20 points along with three steals, while Green dropped a double-double on 22 points and 18 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Green has scored at least 25% of Dodge County's points. Aubreeana Coney was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Despite the loss, West Laurens had strong showings from Zion Covin, who scored six points along with three steals, and Brookyln Jackson, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds. That's the first time this season that Covin grabbed two or more steals. Another player making a difference was Gabby Carswell, who scored eight points.
Dodge County pushed their record up to 4-1 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for West Laurens, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.
Dodge County will head out on the road to face off against Bleckley County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bleckley County will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
