Baseball Recap: St. John Lutheran Victorious

St. John Lutheran won the last time they faced Riverside Christian and things went their way on Friday too. The Saints walked away with a 12-7 victory over the Wranglers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Saints.

Adam Stillwell was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Stillwell wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Will Spellman, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Spellman has become a key player for St. John Lutheran: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-7 otherwise. Noah Hisey was another, scoring a run and stealing a base.

St. John Lutheran's record now sits at 11-7. As for Riverside Christian, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-10.

St. John Lutheran didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 7-0 loss against Branford on the 4th. As for Riverside Christian, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on First Christian at 6:00 p.m. on the 29th.
