Patrick St. John was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Lake Park is 6-3 when he allows at most two walks, but 7-8 otherwise.
At the plate, Lake Park saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rocco Jones, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.
Wheaton-Warrenville South's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-11. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Lake Park, their loss dropped their record down to 13-11.
Lake Park's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Wheaton-Warrenville South hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .322.
