The Westwood Christian Warriors waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 76-58 win over Coral Shores. Given Westwood Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 200th, while Coral Shores is ranked 546th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Westwood Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Michael Vilmenay out in front who scored 25 points along with six rebounds and two steals. William Nadaskay was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven steals and six assists.
Westwood Christian's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.6 points per game. As for Coral Shores, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westwood Christian will take on Divine Savior Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Coral Shores, they will head out on the road to challenge Marathon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
