After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bedford, the Harvey Red Raiders were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They walked away with a 74-63 win over John Hay. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Harvey was led to victory by Chase Goines and Armani Hall. Goines scored 18 points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Hall scored 27 points along with five rebounds. The game was Hall's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Braylon Johnson, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds.
Harvey's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for John Hay, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Harvey has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Beachwood at 6:00 p.m. on January 4th. Beachwood has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. John Hay will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bard Early College at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th.
