The Perry Panthers lost against the Green Bulldogs back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Perry fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 44-42. While losing is never fun, Perry can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 368th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 25th).
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Luke Wolf, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Nico Martelli, who scored nine points along with five assists.
This is the second loss in a row for Perry and nudges their season record down to 4-13. As for Green, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-3.
Perry will head out on the road to take on the Battling Bees at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Medina is on a three-game streak of home losses, the Panthers a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Green will take on the Knights at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Archbishop Hoban knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully the Bulldogs like a good challenge.
