Ridge Point and Fort Bend Elkins are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2019, but not for long. The Ridge Point Panthers will square off against the Fort Bend Elkins Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ridge Point will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Last Saturday, Ridge Point didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against George Ranch, but they still walked away with a 53-48 victory. Given Ridge Point's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while George Ranch is ranked 212th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, even though Fort Bend Travis scored an imposing 55 points on Saturday, Fort Bend Elkins still came out on top. Fort Bend Elkins managed a 59-55 victory over Fort Bend Travis. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Fort Bend Elkins.
Fort Bend Elkins got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Matthew Nyakundi out in front who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Charley Reado was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Ridge Point pushed their record up to 20-7 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.6 points per game. As for Fort Bend Elkins, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 games, which provided a massive bump to their 17-9 record this season.
Ridge Point came up short against Fort Bend Elkins when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 55-45. Can Ridge Point avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
