Hopewell's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Friday: Mohawk Area hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Warriors' pitcher stepped up to hand Quaker Valley a 12-0 shutout on Wednesday. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Quakers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Reagan Magno made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Hopewell, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They put the hurt on Beaver Falls with a sharp 18-6 win on Wednesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Vikings considering their two-run performance the contest before.
Alana Covalt made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Covalt was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Isabella Katkich was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Hopewell's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Mohawk Area, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Mohawk Area hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.3 home runs per game. However, it's not like Hopewell struggles in that department as they've been averaging 1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Everything went Mohawk Area's way against Hopewell in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Mohawk Area made off with a 10-0 win. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
