The West Aurora Blackhawks lost against the Dixon Dukes & Duchesses back in February of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. West Aurora was the victim of a rough 58-37 loss at the hands of the Dukes & Duchesses. While losing is never fun, West Aurora can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 249th, while the Dukes & Duchesses are ranked 93rd).
Several Blackhawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Shiane Johnson, who scored eight points along with three steals. Serenity Evans was another key contributor, scoring six points along with two steals.
West Aurora has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-17 record this season. As for Dixon, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season.
West Aurora will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Plainfield North is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Dixon, they will head out on the road to challenge the Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Marengo sitting on eight straight wins and the Dukes & Duchesses on three.
