The Hillsborough Terriers won the last time they faced the Spoto Spartans, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Hillsborough blew past the Spartans, posting a 74-41 victory at home. The win made it back-to-back wins for Hillsborough.
Jose Deleon and Jerren Rodriguez certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Deleon dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds, while Rodriguez scored 15 points along with five rebounds. That was a full 39% of Spoto's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Jared Corgelas was another key contributor, scoring four points along with six rebounds.
Hillsborough's victory bumped their record up to 11-13. As for Spoto, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hillsborough has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Knights at 8:00 p.m. on February 1st. Averaging 61.58 points so far this season, Robinson's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so the Terriers better be ready for a challenge. As for Spoto, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Dragons at 8:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Florida (Jefferson is ranked 476th, while the Spartans are ranked 478th).
