An exciting East v. West battle is about to be fought. The West Rebels are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will square off against the Austin-East Roadrunners at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.1 goals per game this season.

West had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the four-goal drubbing they dealt Centennial on Sunday. West was the clear victor by a 5-1 margin over Centennial. Gavin Jones was a massive factor in the win as he booted in three goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, Austin-East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Morristown-Hamblen East, falling 4-1. That's two games in a row now that Austin-East have lost by exactly three goals.

West has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those four matchups. Austin-East's loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Everything went West's way against Austin-East in their previous meeting back in May of 2023, as West made off with a 9-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for West since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
