It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Tahlequah Tigers can now relate to. Their tough 41-21 loss to Putnam City on Friday might stick with them for a while. Tahlequah was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-14.
Despite the loss, Tahlequah still got an impressive performance from Beckett Robinson, who picked up 151 receiving yards and a touchdown.
It was another big night for Judson Keefer, who rushed for 160 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries, and also threw for 156 yards and a touchdown. Keefer's longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards. Elijah Asberry and his 81 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Putnam City's win.
Tahlequah has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Putnam City, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.
Tahlequah does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Putnam City will head out on the road to face off against Stillwater at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Stillwater will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
