Paris is 0-6 against Charleston since May of 2018 but things could change on Wednesday. The Tigers will host the Trojans at 4:30 p.m. Paris is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
Casey-Westfield hit Paris with a four-run first inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Tigers came up short against the Warriors, falling 10-3.
Paris saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Kraemer, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI. Another was Kacey Wells, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Charleston entered their tilt with Danville on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They skirted past the Vikings 14-12.
Ella Price looked comfortable as she tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Lainie Keefer was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Beals, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Charleston was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are 8-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Paris' loss dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Charleston, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.
Charleston's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Paris has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.6 hits per game. It's a different story for Charleston, though, as they've been averaging 10.1 hits. Given Paris' sizable advantage in that area, the Trojans will need to find a way to close that gap.
Paris might still be hurting after the 17-7 defeat they got from Charleston in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Will the Tigers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
