Baseball Recap: Marlington Beats Southeast for Their Third Straight Win

Marlington put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 7-2 win over the Southeast Pirates. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Logan Smith made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Smith was even better at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Smith wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cole Jones, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Marlington's victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

Coming up, Marlington will challenge Norton at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Southeast, they will welcome Mathews at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
