Shawn Hogan and Caleb Brewer made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Hogan struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Meanwhile, Brewer pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the most strikeouts Hogan has posted since back in March of 2024. At the plate, Hogan went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and four RBI, while Brewer went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Dylan Restine, who fired off two home runs and one stolen base while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Dewar got the win against Salina on Friday by a conclusive 9-2. The Dragons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 22 matchups by six runs or more this season.
AIDEN TOMLINSON spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up 12 Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, P. Kilhoffer was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was S. Yaeger, who went 2-for-3 with one home run.
Dewar pushed their record up to 27-0 with the victory, which was their 40th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Panama, their record is now 15-4.
Saturday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Panama hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .313. However, it's not like Dewar struggles in that department as they've averaged .374. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
