If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Hazard. They have had some extra time to regroup and restrategize before their next game, which is against Prestonsburg at 7:30 PM on Friday. Hazard will be hoping to build upon the 29-7 win they picked up against Prestonsburg the last time they played.
If Hazard were riding high off their 43-14 takedown of Letcher County Central three weeks ago, that ride came to an abrupt end. Hazard fell to Somerset 10-24.
Meanwhile, there's no need to mince words: Prestonsburg lost to Floyd Central last Friday, and they lost bad. The score wound up at 6-49. Prestonsburg were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 6-37.
With the two teams each stumbling in off of a defeat, both will be hungry for the victory. Given their recent losses, both teams have a little extra motivation heading into this weekend.
