After flying high against the Medina Mustangs two weeks ago, the Kendall Eagles came back down to earth. Kendall suffered a tough 83-63 defeat at the hands of Notre Dame on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Kendall can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 443rd, while Notre Dame is ranked 78th).
Notre Dame's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ryan Fitzpatrick, who scored 24 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. That's the first time this season that Fitzpatrick pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jaden Sherwood, who scored 19 points along with eight assists and five rebounds.
Kendall's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Notre Dame, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kendall will take on Wheatland-Chili at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Wheatland-Chili will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Notre Dame, they will be playing at home against Webber at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
