On Tuesday Alanee Wheeler struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. The performance also marked the fewest walks (two) Wheeler has had since March 3rd. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was her third in a row with more than seven strikeouts. For the year, she has been strong no matter where she plays. On the mound, she has an ERA of 4.65 over 52.7 innings pitched. Meanwhile, at bat she has slashed 0.486/0.661/1.027 with 23 RBI and 5 home runs.

Wheeler's effort led Union over Eupora and she'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Union will be headed into this one with a sizable disadvantage in the rankings (they're ranked 57 places lower in Mississippi), but they're not letting that get them down.
