Latta had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Hemingway Tigers as they made off with a 15-0 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Vikings also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2025.

Brennon Miles made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Luke Huggins was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bryson Berry, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Latta always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .750. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.

Latta's record is now 10-3. As for Hemingway, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Latta will head out to take on Marion at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Hemingway, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Carvers Bay at 6:00 p.m. on the 14th.
