The Legacy Charter Eagles struggled with assists on Tuesday (the South Lake Eagles had 1000% more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Legacy Charter took a serious blow against South Lake, falling 67-23. Legacy Charter was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-10.
Despite the loss, Legacy Charter still got an impressive performance from Mallory Daniels, who scored 16 points along with 5 steals. Daniels scored a full 69.6% of Legacy Charter's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Brooke Smith was another key contributor, scoring 2 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Lake to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ella Cochran, who scored 8 points along with 6 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Zoe Sheffield, who scored 11 points along with 5 rebounds.
Legacy Charter's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for South Lake, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
Legacy Charter will head out on the road to face off against City of Life Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully City of Life Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 last Thursday. As for South Lake, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Lake Minneola at 7:00 p.m. on December 7th. Lake Minneola is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
