Basketball Game Preview: Evangelical Christian Sentinels vs. Saint Stephen's Episcopal Falcons

The Evangelical Christian Sentinels will face off against the Saint Stephen's Episcopal Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Evangelical Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.2 points per game this season.

Evangelical Christian will head into Tuesday's match on the come-up: they were handed a heart-breaking two-point defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Bonita Springs on Tuesday. Evangelical Christian breezed by Bonita Springs to the tune of 63-34. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Sentinels have posted since January 30th.

Evangelical Christian found their leader in sophomore Quez Outten, who went 11 for 18 on his way to 26 points in addition to six boards and five steals. With that strong performance, Outten is now averaging an impressive 2.4 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Irwin, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 15 points and five steals.

Meanwhile, Saint Stephen's Episcopal came up short against Imagine School at North Port on Tuesday and fell 57-45. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Saint Stephen's Episcopal's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Evangelical Christian, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Evangelical Christian took their victory against Saint Stephen's Episcopal in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 61-38. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Saint Stephen's Episcopal's Nick Yatros, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 19 points in addition to three steals and three blocks.
