The Moreno Valley Vikings lost against the Valley View Eagles back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Moreno Valley received a tough blow as they fell 60-44 to Valley View.
Despite the loss, Moreno Valley still got an impressive performance from Jamall Thompson, who scored 16 points. Jordan Hayes was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Valley View found their leader in underclassman Charles Knight, who scored 21 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Knight has scored at least a third of Valley View's points. Another player making a difference was Kenneth Hutchinson, who scored 13 points.
Moreno Valley now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Valley View, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season.
Moreno Valley won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Vista del Lago at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th. Vista del Lago is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. Valley View will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Orange Vista at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. Orange Vista has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
