Remington Buchanan made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched six innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Noah Wheeler, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Gavin Neuens, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.
Niagara kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Peshtigo came out on top against Wausaukee on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fourth inning. The Bulldogs narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Rangers 9-7. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Rangers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Ethan LaComb made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. LaComb was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Elliot Proft and Levi Nemec did most of the damage at the plate: Proft went 3-for-5 with two runs and one stolen base, while Nemec went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Proft is becoming a predictor of Peshtigo's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-6 when he doesn't). Vin Paoli was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Niagara's record now sits at 4-9. As for Peshtigo, their record is now 9-6.
