Baseball Recap: Mosinee Has No Trouble Against Medford

Mosinee lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Medford, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's matchup. The Indians put the hurt on the Raiders with a sharp 11-3 win on Friday. Considering the Indians have won four games by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Mosinee got a great performance from Zach Nechuta as he struck out eight batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). Nechuta has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Carter Fandrey was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Brady Lokken, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Mosinee kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive contests.

Mosinee's record now sits at 7-2. As for Medford, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.

Looking ahead, Mosinee will head out on the road to take on Merrill at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Medford, they will venture away from home to square off against Lakeland at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
