The Brennan Bears can now show off 18 landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 88-25 victory over Stevens. Brennan is really starting to get used to good results now that the team's won 15 straight.
Brennan's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bella Flemings led the charge by dropping a double-double on 27 points and 12 rebounds. Taylor Ross was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Stevens lost, one person who can't be blamed is Mya Guzman. Despite the final result, she scored nine points.
Brennan pushed their record up to 26-3 with that win, which was their 24th straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for Stevens, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost 13 of their last 16 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-19 record this season.
Brennan will head out on the road to square off against the WILDCATS at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sotomayor will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Bears are ranked 15th). As for Stevens, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully O'Connor focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Friday.
