Basketball Recap: Lexington Piles Up the Points Against East Davidson

Lexington won the last time they faced East Davidson and things went their way on Friday too. The Lexington Yellowjackets blew past the East Davidson Golden Eagles 64-33. The Yellowjackets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 29 points or more this season.

Lexington was led to victory by Jayla Cowan and Lily Ervin. Cowan went 9 of 16 on her way to 22 points, while Ervin dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance gave Cowan a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Angela Fosso, who posted eight points and four steals.

The victory made it two in a row for Lexington and bumps their season record up to 13-3. As for East Davidson, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which lines up perfectly with their 4-12 record this season.

Lexington will square off against South Davidson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lexington has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for East Davidson, they will take on Parkland at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Parkland will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something East Davidson surely won't give up without a fight.
