The Northglenn Norsemen suffered their biggest loss since November 30, 2023 on Saturday. They were the victim of a rough 51-26 loss at the hands of Longmont. While losing is never fun, Northglenn can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 214th, while Longmont is ranked 101st).
Savannah Pohl was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds for Longmont. Pohl has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaila Patterson, who scored 16 points along with two steals.
Northglenn has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Longmont, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northglenn will square off against Loveland at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Loveland is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Longmont, they will head out on the road to face off against Holy Family at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Holy Family is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
